Our communities are safer, healthier and stronger when public service workers – people like paramedics, 911 operators, nurses, teachers and sanitation workers – have the freedom to join together in a union and speak up together for their communities.

Public service workers deserve the freedom to form a union and negotiate for pay and benefits without interference from employers if a majority of employees choose to do so.

But in 25 states, public sector workers are denied the freedom to negotiate. We need federal legislation to protect the rights of our hardworking public service workers.
